Nigerian Afro-pop superstar Davido today took to Twitter to announce that he signed a record deal with Sony Music worldwide today at their headquarters in New York City. The deal which is reportedly worth over a million dollars will see Sony music use their huge entertainment machinery to further help distribute, promote and market the 23 year old artiste. The deal was facilitated with American entertainment company RED One which was established by Efe Ogbeni.
Present at the signing was Davido, Adewale “Chairman HKN” Adeleke, Efe Ogbeni, Kamal Ajiboye, Joel Katz (Number-One-ranked entertainment attorney) and Adam Granite (VP of Sony Music International). His delayed album B.A.D.D.E.S.T IS set to drop and should be distributed by Sony music worldwide. He joins Leriq and Burna Boy as Nigerian artistes who are signed to Sony Music, albeit the latter two are signed to Sony Africa
