L.A.X has been under Wizkid’s shadow, but the starboy music act is doing all he can to put that to a stop. The singer came into the lime light when he was featured on Wizkid’s Caro, soon after he was signed onto Wizkid’s “Starboy” records. He went on to drop his own single, “Ginger” – which featured label boss Wizkid. Although L.A.X has gone on to release a couple of singles after, nothing has been heard of him and Wizzy.
In a recent interview with Punch, L.A.X explained why Wizkid and himself have not done songs together.
“When I started dropping my own songs, I realised people began to say things like I am Wizkid’s boy. They were calling me Wizkid’s kid” he stated. ”Wizkid is an amazing artist and everybody knows that, but I am trying to create my own brand so that people will know LAX for who LAX is. I am not Wizkid’s boy or his kid and that is why we haven’t been working together a lot recently but we have recorded many songs together.”
Apparently this caused bad blood with the Starboy acts as Wizkid pretty much ignored him for months until he finally showed his support for L.A.X as he kicked off his European tour.
Wizzy also congratulated L.A.X when he bought his first car, a 2013 Mercedez C250.
