President M. Buhari has come under fire for his comment at a business conference in London, where he described Nigerian youths as lazy. The youths have taken to social media to react to the statement and Banky W also reacted.
President Buhari was quoted to have said that the Nigerian youths “do nothing” and want everything for “free” in the oil-rich country. In his words;
“A lot of them (Nigerian youths) haven’t been to school and they are claiming, you know, that Nigeria has been an oil-producing country therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, health care, education, free.”
A lot of Nigerian youths have countered the statement made by the President, using #LazyNigerianYouths to talk about their respective jobs and how they are being resourceful. Singer, Banky W has joined in the discussion but instead of talking about his business, he is urging the youths to get their voter’s card and vote for a government that values them.
