Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has not been named in Arsene Wenger’s squad for the side’s clash with Leicester. Wilshere has made 19 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this term and played 72 minutes of their 5-0 defeat of Burnley at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Much of the talk leading up to Arsenal’s trip to the King Power Stadium has surrounded Wilshere’s contract situation, with Wenger confident that the midfielder will sign a new deal.
The Englishman has pulled out of Wednesday’s night match, though, as his wife is due to give birth. Ahead of the clash, Wenger told Sky Sports: ‘His wife is pregnant and had to go back in a hurry – he’s not injured so don’t worry!
